How does this work?
Step One:
We will meet to brainstorm ideas and view the room or wall to be painted. While some clients have a clear vision of what they want, others do not and leave it up to me to provide ideas and suggestions. Once the theme is determined, a rough sketch will be provided if needed.
Step Two:
You will receive a rough estimate of cost within 5 days of our first meeting. If you are happy with the ideas and quote, a non-refundable deposit is due at that time. The amount of the deposit may vary depending on the size and complexity of the mural. A black and white sketch will be provided upon your request. Color renderings can be prepared for an additional fee.
Step Three:
After you approve the design, including any changes, we will schedule a date to begin painting. The deposit will be applied toward the total cost of the mural. If changes are requested after painting has begun, there will be additional charges. The remaining balance is due when the mural is complete.
Do I need to be home?
No, a majority of clients work or run errands during the painting process.
Are the paints harmful for kids?
No, we use water based, acrylic paints that have no odor and dry to the touch within an hour. However, if a sealant is required, we suggest that your child sleep in another room for the first night as sealants have a slight odor while drying. Sealants are typically used in high traffic areas or areas subjected to moisture, like bathrooms.
How long does it take to complete a project?
Our goal is to provide you with superior service in a timely, professional manner. The time needed for a mural or hand painted canvas will depend on the complexity and size of your project. A smaller scale mural can be painted in a few days while a larger and more intricate mural may take a week or more to complete.
Do the walls need to be prepped for painting?
The key to a gorgeous paint finish is good wall preparation. Any necessary repairs to the surface (patching nail holes, removing wallpaper, etc.) should be done in advance. We do not provide base painting services for walls or ceilings.
Should we move furniture prior to work being started?
Furniture needs to be moved at least 4 feet away from the areas being painted. On the first day of work, we will tape off all areas that need to be protected and install drop cloths to protect your flooring as well. Your property will be treated with the utmost care and respect.
How far do you travel?
We are located in Fort Worth, Texas and the majority of our work is done in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. However, we have painted in cities such as Phoenix, AZ; Crested Butte, CO; Westport, CT; Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; Austin, TX; Knoxville, TN; and Memphis, TN. Cost of travel outside of Dallas-Fort Worth will invoiced in addition to our standard fee.
